Oddly enough, his economics may have been more effective than most of the democracies' ones today.

He built infrastructure. He rolled out Germany's autobahns. He constructed buildings. And Germany's economy recovered.

Whereas the UK's austerity measures here in the year 2011 are now beginning to bear their poisoned fruit. The US' timid attempt at Keynesianism wasn't adequate to the task of replacing lost demand and now we are seeing the consequences of that.

It shouldn't take a dictator to figure out how to solve this problem. But maybe only a structure in which decision-making is possible is capable of getting us out of the hole we are in.

One more example of - well, you've heard it before. The UK has made a policy error, but at least it will know it has done so and will change course at some point.
