Unlike you, I do care about the truth. I make money in my investments by finding truth before others do.
So I investigated your claim and can actually see how you might think Reagan caused a huge recession. But because of your political bias and obvious economic igorance, I'm sorry to tell you that you're wrong.
Wikipedia shows that a recession occurred in the first six months of 1980, then a recovery took place. Reagan took office in 1981, and six months later the economy fell into recession again.
What you WON'T get from Wikipedia (but please still read the explanation to the right of the 1981 recession) is what I mentioned earlier: Economic policy always takes at least a year (often longer) before the effect can be felt. That's why Obama doesn't deserve blame for the worsening of the recession during his first year, and deserves the benefit of the doubt for his SECOND year. Now, however, we're THIRTY THREE MONTHS (that's more than two years, in case you're wondering) into Obama's Administration, and he fully owns this disastrous economy.
There's no way Reagan's policies could have caused the recession of July 1981. It was primarily an EFFECT of Jimmy Carter's flawed policies. And the staggering growth that transpired between 1982 and 1990 is wholly Reagan's doing.
