(What can one expect of a harvard grad . . .)

You don't get it, do you, KTC.

The first 30 years of the 'program' (though I doubt
anybody actually thought it out and tried to implement
it as such) SHOULD have enabled 'black America' to
get to where economic parity would be possible.

1970's - busing and integration of the schools.

1980's - affirmative action in hiring and higher education.

1990's - minority set asides.

A black dude my age should have gotten his educations
in the 70's, mastered his trade in the 80's, and
become a businessman in the 90's - putting him in a
position to fund the united negro college fund, and
mentor other blacks up the ladder to success.

What happened?

Instead of 'black leaders' getting with the program
and pushing their young to get educated and work hard
they was wailing about confederate battle flags or,
example marion barry, smoking dope and chasing whores.

Where is 'black America' today? Just look at the high
crime rates of young black males. Young unwed black
mothers. Have you checked the drop out rates of
blacks lately? (It seems even with the dumbing down
of curricula so's they can 'pass' they still can't do
the work.)

Are blacks genetically inferior? I would hope not.

But, when the smartest and brightest blacks University
of Virginia can find haven't got the skill sets
necessary to do college level work . . . .

We went through a 30 year program. It failed. It is
past time to scrap it. If blacks can make the grades
. . . and I mean to include SAT scores on a par with
the white boys, fine, give them a scholarship. If
not, give them a shovel or a toilet brush or a
hamburger flipper.

Zim.

Snappy:

I certainly concede that some innocent people were damaged by Affirmative Action. There was a cost associated with the program. You were one of those who paid, although I doubt very much that you were trampled by Affirmative Action. Excellent excuse for failure though. Blame the Negroes!
