Katia is generating a lot of early concern, but it seems to me that the storm is trending further north than Irene did. Further north => further east, and probably no concern as far as the Continental U.S. is concerned.
But I betcha our politicians will play it up.
Scroll down to see the route Irene took. As you can see, Katia's path is considerably different. It would have to veer a little south before concerns of "another Irene" could be taken seriously.
