Hi Alea,

I like to compare the situation at this time with that of four years ago. Back then, SKS was promising that good things were coming, but there was not much else to corroborate his predictions. Wave was still in various stages of "studies" with the Army and the NSA, and while it looked like there was reason to believe Wave would be the success that some predicted, there were a lot of factors that showed no sign of moving towards trusted computing.

In our current time period, I believe that there are many more factors that line up in support of SKS' predictions. There have been more than a few instances of organizations adopting trusted computing technology. Wave has been at the center of most of them, as one would expect if our patents are as valuable as asserted. Wave has also been at the center of all governmental instances of trusted computing. No one else has made substantial sales of any technology that imposes upon the space Wave is supposed to control. Wave has substantially increased their sales totals, including some extremely large corporations.

You've followed the space, and the work of people like Awk and CM, Weby, etc. You've seen the evidence they have laid out. It all aligns in Wave's direction. Trusted computing is a reality. The only questions left are: when will sales really ramp up, and how far into the electronic communications media will the trusted computing concept penetrate. The farther it penetrates, the bigger Wave gets.

As far as the shelf goes, I believe that the renewal was a hedge to protect against not being ready when sales really ramp up. So far, it looks like Wave will be able to have their sales/service force ready in time without having to issue more shares, which is a substantial feather in SKS' hat IMO.

The worst spot for Wave to have found themselves in when trusted computing is adopted would have been watching a comptetitor with deeper pockets be more prepared to lock up most of their market share. It now looks like that is not going to happen. The second worst spot for Wave to be in would be to have the adoption of trusted computing happen, and not to be ready for the demand-pull with enough sales/service staff. So I say to SKS, hire as many as you can and be ready to make the transition as seamless as possible. Make sure there are no more issues like sleep mode or BIOS difficulties. Get it right the first time.

That will cause the quickest increase in shareholder value, IMO. The one thing holding us back now is bureaucratic delays. Lets not add any difficulties from our side.

Hi Hari,

Didn't Wave just renew the shelf?

May suggest that Wave is anticipating growth but hedging its bets.

The mass hire is the financial fact that has piqued my interest.
