Kathy, I would have had to go back and pay them the $8. Been there, done that. The local K-Mart is bad about posting a sign saying XX% off and then the cash register will ring up the original price. I once was going to buy a big plastic halloween bowl that was 90% off. It rang up about $12. I an quite sure it was not $120 before it was marked down. Needless to say, I did not buy it.

OH LORDY, LORDY - THESE YOUNG'UNS ARE REALLY, REALLY STOOOOPID.

I ONCE WANTED TO BUY A CLOCK. IT WAS ON SALE FOR $20. IT WAS 30% OFF.

I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO THE 16-YEAR-OLD CASHIER THAT 30% OFF OF $20 BUCKS WAS $6.00 DOLLARS.

SHE CALLED FOR TWO MANAGERS, BOTH AROUND 19-YEARS-OLD.

THEY DIDN'T GET IT, EITHER.

AFTER LOTS OF CONVERSATION, THEY AGREED WITH ME.

WHEN I GOT HOME, I LOOKED AT MY VISA RECEIPT.

YUP, THEY CHARGED ME $6.00 FOR THE CLOCK.
