as we watch the film of President Obama at the FEMA headquarters today praising the crew there for their fast action in response to the threat from Hurricane Irene, as we remember how former President Bush responded to Hurricane Katrina by remaining at his ranch for three days on vacation and then flew over the city of New Orleans to inspect the damage from the safety of Air Force One. Obama cut short his vacation to do what he did. We also remember how Texas governor Rick Perry complained bitterly this year because he didn't get as much federal help as he thought he needed in fighting the wildfires that have been consuming his drought ridden state. It is also interesting to note that Perry has offered help to Republican governors such as in Virginia to assist them in resoring power. It would take bucket trucks from Texas three or four days to make it to Virginia so, it would appear that this offer was mainly for looks and for a try for political advantage from this weather tragedy. It would also be of note to see who would end up having to pay for those bucket trucks and their long travel time to get to the Virginia scene.
