Zim,
I've never ever said that mammals and other animals have not evolved over the millennia - I believe they have. But, how did this "ungodly complicated cellular mechanics" (your words) get started and where did the design come from? Darwin's theory of evolution is a theory, not a proven, unassailable explanation of just exactly how living things progressed from the dawn of time to now. Often, leftists religiously cling to the theory of evolution as sacro-sanct, inviolate, scientific "fact" because they have a strong tendency to be secular humanists who are desperately in search of an explanation of life that does not involve God, Whose existence they despise. Such leftists become apoplectic whenever anyone has the "audacity" to question the theory of evolution, as they purport it to be, because that calls into question one of the basic tenets of their humanist, anti-theist religion. Therefore, they immediately launch into vitriolic attacks, like rabid versions of Pavlov's dogs, against anyone who isn't in lockstep agreement with their intolerant views. Unfortunately for these leftists, putting all their faith and hopes in humanism and human science will always leave them desperate for more ... to fill the yawning hole in their very being that no human can even come remotely close to filling on their own ... because we humans are finite in so many ways and we will never be able to understand even a tiny amount of the truth during our lifetimes here on earth. Of course, that doesn't mean we should not try our best to expand our base of truthful knowledge ... we absolutely should ... but it also means that we should not arrogantly (and quite stupidly) attempt to elevate ourselves as the end-all and be-all in our own pathetically limited minds.
Personally, I believe God is the author and designer of life, and He is beyond the concept of time. If the theory of evolution truthfully discovers some of the bits and pieces of how God set life into motion, great ... but that doesn't change that God is the original and ongoing author and designer of life.
