orda,

are you reading my mind????

I could not have said it any better!

Alea,

You give Wave and SKS way too much credit. They are not pulling the strings in this game. Hell, the GlobalPlatform are just putting the finishing touches on a frame work that acually describes Trusted Execution Environments for Trusted Applications.

Those applications will run in secured environments in secured devices. How do you create secured devices starting in the BIOS? I know you know the answer the TPM/MTM and even better if you have a SED.

Citrix/Geenhills Software/LynuxWorks are binding their hypervisors to the TPM for Trusted booting.

The problem in MHO as orda stated, is it will take the Gov't or DOD or the defense contractors to actually mandate the use of multi-layered security (utilizing the TPM) and I think the products further up the IT "stack" from Wave and the hardware needs to be more mature or ready.

How else can you explain it? SKS/incompetence does not do it for me.

Who puts a chip on the motherboard (TPM) that doesn't get used for years and why? I think the NSA said to industry, "Look, we want things to proceed like this and we'll get the government buy-in." So the TCG is waiting for the government orders before they really launch things.

I think they got involved with Wave's EMBASSY chip back in 2000. They set it up so that a lot of the different parts got farmed out to the big players and Wave got a certain portion of the system. They've been hanging on ever since.

In the meantime, SKS has tried to drum up money/business through other ventures until the big government turn-on with things like iShopHere, SignOnline, WavXpress, etc. We've seen how those things play out. No way Wave is around if the NSA isn't driving this bus.

I think some "investors" are privy to all this and that's why they're so vehement in their defenses. And that's why that big Wave investor with 6 million shares is still around. I mean who buys 6 million shares in Wave and sits on them for a decade quietly without knowing something. The guy is from Bethesda and is either tied to the NSA or has contacts there.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
