Remember, the Dems wanted the stimulus to be 100% dedicated to infrastructure and 'shovel-ready' construction projects which would have immediately put people to work, but the Republicans demanded that most of the money be dedicated to tax cut and credits to corporations and what did they do with that money? Absolutely nothing but put it in the bank and then claim that things were too uncertain for them to make any commitments to hire people or make any investments. Over half of the money that the GOP claims was 'wasted' on the stimulus is still siting in the banks or have been paid out as bonuses to corporate executives or has been diverted to overseas banks. So when you claim that the stimulus 'failed' think about what you're actually saying. The GOP set it up so that it couldn't be as effective as it could have been since having it succeed was not in THIER best interests since they no longer see America's interests as their own. They can only see that if the economy turns around and Obama gets even part of the credit that this will undermine their claims that Obama wants to destroy America and that until he's removed from office NOTHING can possible get better. They are so invested in that message now that they will do anything to sabotage any possibility of there being even a modest recovery, PERIOD!!!!
