You were judging a man's qualification for office based on his college grades. If he wins the Republican nomination, as you fear he might, and faces Obama in the general election, do you not think it is appropriate and more honest to judge both candidates on the same criteria? It might not better your personal opinion of Perry to discover that Obama made a D-average in college, but it would definitely diminish Obama's qualifications for office even more than for Perry. But, I suspect your rush to judge Perry without any personal desire to subject Obama to the same standard, or even to wonder as to the reasons why you do not have the necessary information to make a comparison, simply boils down to outright partisanship on your part rather than some supposed truism.

I was merely pointing out that the last thing this country needs is another C-student from Texas. My comment had nothing to do with Obama and would have been just as relevant irrespective of who might be currently occupying the White House. In other words, I was stating a truism which will stand for a very long time.
