Please clarify. Are you saying that GOLD is useless as a currency if things get really bad? Or that CURRENCY is useless if things get really bad?

If the former, why? And what do you think would be better than gold currency during really bad times? Ammunition currency?

I don't totally disagree with that, by the way. I bought a ton of ammunition - more than I'll ever use - with the thought that it keeps forever and is one more thing I could probably use in barter with people, if things ever get that bad.

My only point is that Gold is probably completely useless as a currency if things really get bad...there are quite a few people out there that don't agree with this. I do see it's value as an investment or it's value if and when things would recover after a calamity.
