Happiest day of my life was when I shut down the UAW in my plant some time ago and re-opened another one.
Immediately went to a 100 percent increase in productivity with NEW PEOPLE out in a more rural setting a couple counties away.
I threw a rather large party that final day in honor of seeing those pin heads go.
Same ones that told me in a contract negotiation once that if I would pay them more they would do more.
Sheer geniuses. They are exactly what is financially wrong with this country. The world owes them a living.
Just ask them.
You take all the financial risks and spend all the money. They'll tell you how much you have to paythem and what their benefits are, how many paid holidays they get as well as vacations, and their pensions. What do they contribute?
ZIP.
What a great gig. No wonder so many of them are out of work.
Great question though regarding UNION people, "do you work"?
Most don't. They just put in time.
I have had several facilities erected in my lifetime.
One was a union job. The others were not.
Guess which ones cost way less and got done twice as fast? Hint: It wasn't the union schmucks.

Unions today want to run the company from the bottom up and that just does not work. It is almost as bad as hiring a CEO for an arm and a leg and expecting him to do a good job with no consequences for bad leadership.
