KTC,
You're a mind-numbed leftist with no intellectual honesty. You're trying to equate the unions with American workers and that notion is ludicrous on its face. If unions were truly synonymous with American workers, as a group, then union membership would have to be very high among American workers - at the very least, greater than 50%. However, the highest the percentage of private-sector union membership has ever been is only 34% ... and do you want to know what that percentage is today? 6.9%! A measly 6.9% ... which tells any intellectually honest person that American workers most definitely do not believe that the unions are representative of them, as a group. Also, if you had bothered to read and understand the facts and quotes in the article (originally reported by and linked to The Detroit News, Bloomberg, Reuters, Automotive News, Wall Street Journal, etc.), you would see that the American workers at the Hyundai and Volkswagen plants are very satisfied with their jobs and are quite happy not to be under the yoke of the UAW. So, it's a win-win for the American workers and their employers ... the only losers are the union thugs of the UAW, which is as it should be, because they are nothing but extortionists who line their own pockets and make everyone else miserable.
ROTFLMAO, KTC ... your lock-step leftist ideology that equates unions with American workers wasn't even valid back in the 1950s with an overall, private-sector membership rate of only 34% ... and now your pathetic, stick-in-the-mud notion is so behind the times at a 6.9% rate that it's downright ludicrous! You leftists are dinosaurs ... you aren't "progressives"; you're regressives.
Cheers!
B.
