Zim, I am glad you explained that. I, like snapits, thought you were having the company use the dividends to buy more of their stock. That is my definition of dividend reinvestment. I have always gotten my dividend checks and put them in savings, up until I retired. Then I used the money for things I needed so that I did not have to pay part down and the rest in payments. Buy with cash.

Well, Mein Pope,
I guess I'm one of those 'very few people' for whom
dividend reinvestment programs are nice.

Mind you, I do not reinvest the dividends (directly).
I have them send me a check . . . then I decide who
and when I want to reinvest in. (Or even if I want to
reinvest.)

I've been in my local power companies plan for
almost fourteen years now . . . fourteen years of
uninterrupted dividend checks. Sweet.
