Hi j-t,

I agree. To a great extent, we have set aside the problems of our planet as we focus on the problems of our race. The human one, that is.

Are these problems related? Possibly, at some levels.

I have some (but incomplete) confidence that the American people will not elect a buffoon as president. The long election cycle tends to reveal weaknesses. Perry's vanity, his poor intellect and his back-scratch relationship with Texan business are going to cause him difficulty. Bachmann is simply cuccoo. These things make them both poor choices and I cannot see them winning this game.
