IMO, the intentions of the bidders dictates the value to that bidder. Each will look at their current license agreements, estimated future obligations, projected market share and roadmap and determine the value and what they are willing or able to pay. Some will dropout, some will partner up along the way and some will go it alone just like in the Nortel auction. This is Evercores first rodeo so I am confident they will get the best outcome at this point in time for the shareholders. IMO, in the end it will be an Android consortium including Google and Apple/Microsoft or even Apple alone going head to head to win the prize. This will be a blockbuster move for the winner and will have a big impact on the industry going forward. The wildcard is the video compression trial going on. I would not be suprised if the video compression trial findings are part of the reason for the holdup in the bidding. IMO Evercore is putting a pretty big price tag on that technology and the bidders want as much info on the future possibilities as possible. IMO, we will be "suprised" but not as suprised as the naysayers on icry. Have a good weekend.

thx loop, to rephrase it then, would you speculate that Evercore would be giving Samsung some feedback on their bid?...I would assume Evercore and IDCC mgmt are in constant communication , could IDCC end the process early if they became "content" with a current bid. I don't know what the legalities are in regards to ending the process early IF for some reason (market, rulings, timeframe insisted on by a certain bidder)IDCC (ultimately) decided the best decision is to take a certain deal that is in front of them, now. I wondered if maybe there was some legal obligation for Evercore to go back to others who have bid (including sammy) and tell them "we are going to be ending this early and here is where the bidding stands"...just trying to understand how Sammy would KNOW at this time that the price is too high and if that might give us some additional insight..thanks
