Hi tkc,

This one has been discussed for some time. The US resists it. Wall Street hates it. But it appears to make some sense if the financial firms pay the price rather than simply passing most of it along.

It seems to me at first blush this would be a relatively easy and relatively painless revenue enhancement for the U.S. Right now the SEC only has a 13 basis point fee. I would oppose any fee on transactions w/i a retirement fund. It would not impact low income, while it may dissuade day trading and high frequency trading. Many ways to do it, w/ examples from many many other countries.
