Morning ma'am.
I wouldn't place too much emphasis on Wisconsin one way or another.
It has been a bastion of liberalism for a very long time.
That is WHY its government is almost bankrupt. NOBODY can sustain the extreme benefits that UNIONS have demanded all these years, and that is clear and evident in every single state teetering on the verge of bankruptcy.
It is not up to NON UNION citizens to pay for the gold plated perks and benefits of union people's pensions and gold standard health plans.
That is the problem. The state is predominantly controlled by lefties, as is New Jersey and New York, and Illisnois and some others.
ALL have terrible fiscal problems.
Whose pensions don;t have trouble?
The folks who are NON UNION and have conservatively managed the funds and not given hundreds of millions to political campaigns and then cry about the state of their pension's funds.
The IMPORTANT SENATE races will come in the fall of 2012 to the U.S. Senate.
That is the Senate race to watch, not Wisconsin where it is NO SURPRISE to anyone that two democrats, in a majority democrat district held their seats.
They should have.
But tell me this.
WHEN in WISCONSIN's history has REPUBLICAN SENATORS FLED the statehouse and crossed State borders and refused to come back and face a vote??????
The DEMS have had their way for decades there Clo.
When they LOST to the PEOPLE of WISCONSIN's votes, what did they do?
They tucked tail and FLED which is what they will be remembered for. Unfortunately, they did it to themselves by acting like little children who cannot face the music when they are the MINORITY for once instead of the majority.
By the way, how many hundreds of millions of dollars did the Republican party there spend to have that re-call vote?
A very mere fraction of what the dems did, and still did not get their way?
Clo, I wouldn't gloat over that because it was meaningless and anyone with ANY sense knows it.
It was tit for tat. Posturing. Silly.
What the LIBS should really do is spend as much energy trying to figure out how to restore FISCAL STABILITY to the STATE without ASKING the CITIZENS to pay more taxes so they can support extravagant union programs that THEY DO NOT GET ANY BENEFIT from.
That would be doing their job would it not?
How about politicians actually doing their jobs instead of the bidding of union bosses and the teacher's union and of course, SOROS and company?
That would be a first wouldn't it? It would also be refreshing.
the best,
