I would not be surprised to see a consortium of everybody in the purchase of IDCC. Look at the list of who bought Nortel. Google was invited. It may be that everybody will decide it's too dangerous to let any one company or group hold the patents and engineering staff.

Sooo... let each one pony up a measly 3 billion and get'er done!!

Google? Yes. But not just Google. If there is a bid on idcc, it will be a consortium, that still could include Google.
