clo,

re: "Have you considered a Christmas tree farm?"

I have. The property has a few dozen ideal trees on the perimeter of the 18 acre field. It's not a farm, and I was a little disappointed that they weren't Douglas fir trees, but they'd definitely do the job for me.

There are bound to be many more. I haven't even walke the whole thing due to the dense forest less than a third of the way in. I plan to hike it on my own (the realtor was with me, previously) and see more. The map shows the property as having two brooks, merging into one down the hill a bit. That's a huge plus.

The land is currently rated as having a quarter million board feet of harvestable lumber. That's also a plus, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how much that's worth or if the mess created in the harvesting is something I could stomach. (I walked a recently harvested property a few weeks ago. WOW, what a mess! But I don't know if it is always like that.)

Hi Decomp,

Sounds great!

Have you considered a Christmas tree farm?
Or a section of property for trees?
Just a thought.
Have fun the weather is beautiful for this visit. clo
