ribit, I currently get eight grand a year in dividends. I would love to double or triple that. In the 50's I heard a story that I never forgot. An elevator operator in 1929 took $1,000 is savings and bought stocks. In the 1950's he was one of the richest folks in America. (If I remember right he bought AT&T for 18 cents and GM for a little higher.)
