re: "Most of us didn't know and didn't care about gay usage of the term."

Oh, I think those who came up with it as a reference to the Tea Partiers knew full well what they were doing. It's a not-so-inside-joke that will ALWAYS be, primarily, a reference to gay sex.

I definitely believe in manners and civility when in public. I think we need more people to speak up when others are being rude. So I guess you're right. I must be prudish.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

You're being very prudish about 'tea bagger". Most of us didn't know and didn't care about gay usage of the term. It obviously fit well describing a Tea Party member (Tea Party, ergo Tea Bagger) without regard to the esoteric and disgusting gay definition..

Because of the stink a few politically correct types made, most of us have tried to stop using it. If it slips out occasionally and you can't put aside it's previous gay definition, that's your problem. Most of us couldn't care less.
