Today Senator Gillibrand voted "no" for the bill.
Unusual, especially since Schumer voted "yes".
Yesterday I phoned her office & told the woman answering that I am a supporter of the senator & voted for her.
I told her to please let her know how angry & betrayed many of us are because of Obama's plan. That he failed us in December by extending the Bush tax cuts & he assured us that would be the last time, yet he didn't close loopholes or add revenues to this bill.
I let her know that I was with a family group over the weekend, that we all voted for Obama, but NONE of us are pleased. And I said I didn't know if I could vote for him again & warned her that many senate seats are in play & if folks don't vote for Obama this will have an impact on the senate too.
I asked if she & Schumer could tell Obama the blowback going on?
I don't think my single call had anything to do with her decission, however I wonder how many calls she has been getting?
I'm happy to know she has a mind of her own ;)) clo
