My wife and I leave for vacation in the morning. We fly to Detroit for a couple of days and then we drive up to the U.P. (Upper Peninsula) to attend my 40 year college reunion. Then it's back to Detroit, with some stops along the way to visit family and friends, and then a few more days around the Detroit area visiting more family and friends and then we fly home 2 weeks from today. Originally we were planning on taking my mother-in-law with us, but the doctors said she couldn't travel that far so we had to put her in 'granny daycare' for 2 weeks, at a cost of $2500+, as well as another $350 for someone to come in and feed the cats (and they're not even OUR cats). OH, well. But at least we're getting a real vacation, first one in the 4 years since we became full-time caregivers for my mother-in-law so I guess it's worth the extra cost.
Will try and check in once in awhile as time and internet access allow.
