“It didn't go far enough to help the recovery, because too much of it went towards more tax breaks.”

Like all the checks sent out? Like cash for clunkers? If it was so good, why are millions of people still unemployed?

“Obama needs to close corporate loopholes, no more corporate welfare.”

Do corporations hire people if they do not make a profit? Does the government sell a product that you buy and make a profit? If you double your kids allowance, does that improve his life style or allow him to buy more candy?

“Increase Capital gains taxes to 50%, why should a hedge fund managers only pay 15%, its unthinkable. clo”

Do you have Capital Gains? I do. My total income is around 30k but I pay taxes because I bought stocks and invested for my retirement. I guess that makes me a bad person.

Hi zimbler,

Why didn't obama's economic stimulus package stimulate the economy?

It didn't go far enough to help the recovery, because too much of it went towards more tax breaks.
Obama needs to close corporate loopholes, no more corporate welfare.
