Singer Amy Winehouse dead

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Singer Amy Winehouse was found dead Saturday at her home in London, according to media reports.
Police were called to an address in London’s Camden Square and found the body of a 27-year old female, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to TMZ.com.
The press release from the Metropolitan Police did not specifically identify Winehouse, who had battled drug and alcohol problems for years.
Winehouse first appeared on the international music scene in 2006 with her “Back to Black” album, which led to six Grammy nominations and five wins. Two songs off that album, “Rehab” and “Back to Black” were hits for Winehouse
Winehouse had struggled publicly with drug and alcohol related issues, The Wall Street Journal reported. Her death came a month after she canceled a series of concerts following a highly criticized performance in Belgrade, according to the Journal report.
