...social security is broke for two reasons. First the congress critters have borrowed the money and pissed it away on social programs. Second, there are a lot of people drawing out of social security who have never put anything into it. Im not getting into the argument of whether or not they "deserve" help. It's just that it shouldn't have been funded by social security.

snapits, in the 1950's most everyone never dreamed that people would ever live to be 70 or older. Then things started to change. If SS payments had never been raised, SS would not be in trouble but the payment would be so small as to be useless. The really bad change was when they made it possible for people who never paid in, could get payments. Why should people who lived their whole lives on welfare, get SS payments? Why should people who come to the U.S. and work for little or no time, get SS payments?
