I am sincerely looking for your input, because I honestly don't understand the resistance from Obama-Reid-Et.Al. But I want you to watch this FIRST and use your own arguments instead of possibly just rehashing something you may have read somewhere else.
It seems inevitable to me -- as certain as the sun coming up in the morning -- that the US will not be able to continue deficit spending forever. It is just math, history, and commonsense (actually any one should do almost by itself, but it helps that they all come to the same conclusion).
So what possible motivation would the mainstream Dems have for NOT agreeing to LET THE STATES VOTE ON THIS -- WHICH WOULD RAISE THE DEBT CEILING NOW AND ALLOW THE DEFICIT SPENDING TO GO ON, IF NECESSARY, FOR ANOTHER 6 YEARS???
Even for socialists, trying to deficit spend into perpetuity doesn't make any sense I can think of. Your cogent thoughts, please?

Here is something pertinent, perhaps, from David Walker (hopefully we can both respect him for his past efforts):
"Unfortunately, political ideology is preventing some in Congress from being "realistic about what needs to be done now and what ultimately has to be done over time," Walker says.
For instance, the concept of 'Cut, Cap and Balance' makes sense, "but numbers they're using don't make sense," he says.
