Curiously,

the word virus has no classical Latin plural. In English, the correct plural is viruses.

Note - the Romans didn't have the concept of a modern virus in their vocabulary. The Latin virus meant poison, and this was a word they didn't pluralise.

So what is the plural of the word ignoramus?
