monkey, When I was a kid in Gallup many young guys became police for one reason. They could pickup a female indian, take her out of town, and rape her. Not all police are good and there are some really bad ones. The cop that was shot was one of two that were questioning folks about a report of shots being fired. The pert pulled out a gun and shot the cop. The other cop was able to pull his gun and kill the perp. Porbably more luck than anything. But it was not an evil gun that caused the problem. It was a criminal. Some folks want all guns baned. But sometimes the good guys need guns to even the fight.
