IMO, Obama's difficulty, his opposition REFUSES to "compromise".

And they wear their belligerence as a badge of honor...

Their mantra, keep cutting taxes for big business & the wealthy. "Trickle Down", which never worked, is their answer for the economy.

They forgot, the reason they are in office is because they promised "jobs" would be their top priority.
Instead, from the beginning they have made abortion & womens rights their target. clo

Hi Hari,

You might want to look at Krugman's blog. If you read it daily, you'll see he has been making this case all along. Growth rather than cuts.

Obama's difficulty is that he has to deal with a reality which demands compromise with an opposition which sees things differently.

But I agree he could take much more robust positions in order to find a middle ground in a very different place.
