Clo,

The contractor got a $300,000 bonus for finishing early. But if he had been late, the fine was going to something like $3,000 for every 5 minutes the opening was delayed past the planned 5:00am Monday morning schedule.

OCU,

The Los Angeles Times reported in its online edition that construction crews finished shortly after noon and reopened shortly after noon Pacific time, 17 hours ahead of schedule. The freeway had been set to reopen 5 a.m. Monday.

Quite a feat!!
Hope they get a BIG bonus, since they would have been fined for every 5 minutes late.
They certainly earned it, the old fashioned way, blood, sweat & tears! clo
