ASM MEETING - POST NOTES
While working in the tranquility of my garden a couple of items surfaced
from my very old subconcious mind that I forgot to include in my ASM report.
After the meeting when a few of us were talking to Bill Merritt, I asked what role
our LTE patents played in the licensing process.
I am paraphrasing but the following accurately portrays the meaning of what he said:
When we push our 2G patents out to the middle of the table, they
examine them, lean back in their chairs with a "ho hum". Then we
push our bigger 3G pile out, they examine them sit up straight in their chairs
and start talking. Then we push out our 4G LTE pile- explain how they can
all work together seamlessly, they examine them, lean way foward in their
chairs with eyes as big as saucers and start talking up a blue streak!
Q. Nokia is losing market share- what effect will that eventually have on IDCC?
BM- Most of that is being picked up by Huawei ? and most of it is in Europe.
