At this point it is pretty obvious that far too many idiots actually thought that the Nortel auction was going to lead to an IDCC buyout within a few days after the winning auction price news hit the wires.
IDCC being in a much stronger position to license their 4G IPR is a concept they never considered. And even if you explained to them how the values of 4G patents (and high tech IP in general) have increased across the board, it wouldn't change their disposition because this month's options expire soon.
From where I sit, it looks probable that the value of companies in this space (from IDCC, RPXC, WILN, ACTG, etc.) will slowly increase over the remainder of 2011 as Mister Market responds and digests the news on his own terms.
