ribit, I was moving my money out of AT&T stock and into guaranteed interest when the wireless spinoff was announced. Since all new spinoffs were going through the roof, I moved back into AT&T stock. That was at $50 a share. I then took a transfer to outside plant to get the time I need to be able to retire. Since I was learning a new job I did not follow the stock. It was suddenly in the mid 20's and I figured I would just have to wait for it to go up. I still owned it when SBC bought the company for $5 a share. BUT I do now get a nice dividend. When ya gets greedy, ya sometimes lose ya ass.

I didn't buy a single share, though I was tempted by all the folks who kept telling me how stupid I was and that I was gonna miss the boat. It was like missing the Titanic.
