How terribly silly!
Just a few years ago it was the Democrats who publicly cried that raising the debt ceiling was fiscally irresponsible and voted against it. Why? Simply because a Republican occupied The White House. Nuthin' but politics. Both political parties have contributed mightily to this seemingly never-ending fiscal debacle. But the difference now is that there is a new interest that has entered the fray - the American taxpayers - and I mean those Americans who actually pay the freight for the drunken, political derelicts who have run the situation into the ground. The American taxpayers recently installed a large group of new representatives into the U.S. Congress and they are putting immense pressure through them, as well as directly on previously established, continuing members of Congress, to bring some fiscal sanity to the federal government. Our federal and state governments are spending money we don't have at insane levels, and everybody knows it. It's got to stop - now. Problem is, clo, you don't want the out-of-control spending to stop because the vast majority is on Democrat wealth redistribution programs that are near and dear to your heart. Sorry, luv ... but something has to give before the golden goose is plucked and cooked for our country's last meal.
Failing to raise the debt ceiling is not going to cause the federal government to default ... we will still have more than enough money to pay the interest on our debt. And, your emotional outburst notwithstanding, it is absolutely not "UNAmerican" to stand your ground and rein in previously unchecked, runaway spending by corrupt politicians who use it to buy votes ... no, that is "Un-Democrat-Party" ... which is why you are howling so loudly about it, my dear.
Cheers!
