Medicaid for those low income families, not Medicare.

My sister died, at 58, my exhusband 64, just before he was ready to retire.
Many folks do live a lot longer.

Many doctors don't want to deal with insurance forms either. Or only certain insurance companies.clo

When SS was started, almost no one lived to be 65. Now, most folks live to be 80. People who were never supposed to live long enough to collect, are collecting. As for Medicare, I think anyone of welfare can use Medicare. But I am probably wrong. Many doctors no longer take Medicare because they think they are losing money by accepting it. It pays much less than what they normally charge but they cannot charge more, so they do not treat Medicare patients.
