If you aren't canning food, what are you going to eat in the winter?

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

I followed a link from lewrockwell on how to learn languages to this intriguing site.

I have come to the conclusion, as apparently the site author has, that many modern "men" -- arguably most -- actually don't know how to be men. Similarly, I suppose, many women don't know how to be women.

This isn't a sexist thing, imo, but a to-be-expected side effect of broken community and broken families in the shadow of the nanny state and the mark-to-fantasy manufacture of "consumers" instead of self reliant people. I imagine there has always been a problem with SOME boys and SOME girls not having good role models to follow, but I do feel that the consumer/socialist era has made the problem epidemic. For myself I have been following a regimen to get remedial education in what I was previously lacking; learning how to grow my own food is part of that. I think one necessary and positive outcome from the collapse of the nanny state is people will be motivated to become better, more complete human beings.
