When I was a kid, one of the houses we lived in had a wood burning, kitchen stove. One aunt's house had an outhouse. Liked to go there, my aunt's house, because we always made home-made ice cream and about a quarter mile across the field was a creek we could play in. We went evey summer because we got a year's supply of blackeyed peas. The farmers plowed the plants under for fertilizer so we were allowed to take all the peas we wanted. We also picked wild peaches and grapes.
