you make a good point I was just not sure how to handle the monies paid for a license that went into the purchase price. How do you then back out the value of the non LTE patents that should not be counted? Do you have an estimate of what the auction valued just the LTE patents? If so I can just add that to my $55 value of the current business. Thanks for the help.
DClarke, Why are you using $2 billion as your base for valuation of the Nortel LTE patents? What happened to the additional $2.1 billion from Sony, Microsoft, RIM and Ericsson? ... if you are considering the $2.1 billion as cash flow from a $2 billion investment by Apple wouldn't the net present value of the Nortel patents be more than $2 billion (and even more than $4.1 billion)?
