As the previous posting pointed out, the market
went up strong this week.
And, in my portfolio I had a pleasant surprise.
I've owned three stock mutual funds (outside of
my 401K) . . . I sold one last year and still have
two. I have been severely disappointed in all
three of them since the 2000 market collapse.
Well, today, when I ran the numbers it seems one
of the three finally became worth more than I paid
for it. A piece of the red ink in my spreadsheet
turned from red to black.
(Mind you, this piece of red was just what I paid
for the fund over the years, versus what it is
currently worth - it does NOT allow for the dividends.
That is a separate cell - which has been black for
both the ones I still own.)
Value Line. Ticker VALIX.
Almost all of my stock holdings went up this week.
All my bond funds went down a little . . . which
I've been expecting and praying for. (I want to
buy a LOT more bond fund - preferably at cheaper
prices with higher yields.)
Zim.
