Hi Clo,

Well, lest you forget, I was one of those 18 year olds and got the grand tour of Southeast Asia.

And no, I don't know hardly any of those elected officials that I would trust when it comes to MY MONEY.

In case you didn't know, Thomas Jefferson was in favor of only land or property owners being able to vote because they were the ones whom taxation affected.

If someone doesn't pay any taxes to begin with, they have no skin in the game. WHY should they have ANY right to decide whether I pay more in taxes or not?

And everyone knows politicians never saw a tax they didn't like, because they don;t live in the same world the rest of us do.

EVERY SINGLE proposed BILL regarding taxation SHOULD be brought directly to the people for a direct vote.
Then those weasels can quit hiding and blaming someone else.

We the people needs to be in vogue again.

This whole bunch of weasels and miscreants in Washington need to be thrown overboard and we should start all over with a new and improved version of rules regarding Congress and their benefits and the people should have direct oversight over these folks.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Unfortunately many a congress member seems to fall into this trap.

Well, let's just remove that temptation and let them really know who their boss really is: US. WE THE PEOPLE.

And we are TIRED of seeing our incomes eroded by STATE, LOCAL, and FEDERAL TAXES including gasoline taxes and sales taxes and FEES.

Sorry, but it is time for a revolution.

Hi micro,

With your method there would be no need to have representatives.
That's why we vote, they are representing our best interests, OR should be, Or they are NOT reelected.

As for the 18 year olds, they are often the ones fighting & dying for our country. I think they deserve a vote, even if they don't own property.
Besides, I don't know many rushing to vote for or against the school budget. At least I don't see them when I'm there.

Just my .02 cents, for what its worth ;)) clo
