Yeah, I remember the summer of 1980, quite well ... HOT! HOT!! HOT!!! I was living in an apartment, then, and I went out to the complex's pool to cool off around midnight ... it felt like I was taking a hot bath.

I heard the other day that a strong tropical low was coming in from the east, but they said it was going to stay south and go across Mexico. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will come back north on the backside and swing back into West Texas.

Beldin, my guage says it is 101. The high yesterday was 107. The farmers and ranchers are all in deep dodo. Most of the ranchers are selling their cows. The farmers who depend on rain have nothing but weeds. The ones who irrigate, per the paper, are covered up in grasshoppers. The birds are eating the dry catfood as well as all the bird seed I am putting out. The local weatherman said this is the worse June since 1953. I hope that is not a precursor of what is to come. As I recall, it did not start raining until 1956. I think we need a gulf hurricane to come ashore and send us some rain. Do you remember 1980? Two weeks vacation at Texoma with the coolest day being 110. After that we started going in Sept.
