Hi micro,
I realize you are primarily responding to ribit, snapits, and DG, but since Tour got a lil' testy with my foray onto the Pope Board a few days ago, I'm a gonna go ahead and throw my two cents in, too.
"I think I am correct in saying that TOUR is not a liberal. He has defended me numerous times from liberal attackers on the Wavx board and from a stalker."
"Tour sometimes is prone to take a differing view." ...
"I believe that two or three strong personalities became entangled and yes, Tour will sometimes take a position just to create a 'discussion.'"
From what I've seen, Tour doesn't appear to be a liberal to me, either. In fact, if he is calm and agreeable to conversation next time we meet, we would probably find that he and I agree far more than we disagree on most issues. But, then again, agreement isn't a necessary precursor for me to engage others in rational discussion on these boards, notwithstanding clo's irrational paranoia about her exclusion from the Constitution Board - Constitution was specifically created as a place where Conservatives could congregate without having to put up with all the childish, drive-by bomb-throwing that is so popular with the usual malcontents who inhabit clo's board. And, to be perfectly frank, I never cloistered myself at Constitution ... I regularly ventured forth to FFFT, Rant II, Free, and Pope and gave clo and her off-kilter friends from FFFT plenty of opportunities to launch their personal attacks against me. So, she has no reason to complain ... other than the fact that it was so painfully obvious that she could never rationally defend her leftist ideology ... which is why I am banned from FFFT, now. Oh well ... it's no skin off my back.
"I disagree with Tour's banning."
So do I, as a matter of fact. I'm willing to entertain the quite plausible notion that Tour's strong reaction to my innocuous entry onto the Pope Board the other day was a one-off anomaly caused by a little pent-up agitation from previously crossing swords with the king, the pope, and the peddler. If Tour truly likes to stir up some discussion by taking a strong position from time to time ... good for him ... and hopefully he's not adverse towards others doing the same. We don't all have to agree in order to have a good, rousing conversation ... my only wish is that the issues be discussed with rational thought rather than emotionalism, which inevitably disqualifies clo and her comrades most of the time.
In summary, I'd be glad to have the opportunity to engage Tour, again. If I come to discover that he is uninteresting, tiresome, or boorish, then I will ignore him ... and I certainly do not begrudge his absolute right to reach the same conclusion about me ... but, I think it is worth at least another try or two.
Regards,
B.
