Thanks DGP!
I have no disagreement with you there at all. I remember the riots from when MLK was marching through cities and our little and poor community and community church was threatened directly verbally and the men of the neighborhood stood guard. I was a boy. But I remember it clearly.
In my household I grew up in, we were never allowed to use that word. It was taught us as being as bad as the four letter words people so frequently roll off their tongues without thinking about it. It still appalls me and bothers me to hear that kind of language and you can only guess what I felt like in Nam.
Thank the Lord I had my faith and peacefulness in that to see me through it. I never ever worried about being killed. That is the truth.
I am sorry Tour seems a racist to you. I do not think so and it has never been an issue or a remote thought before for me regarding that. I think he is quite the opposite but just came across like that to you in the heat of exchange.
I agree with you 100 percent regarding political correctness. Nonsense and yes, a way of moving toward socialism. Same speech, same everything. I agree!
I have had the pleasure of having some black engineers as friends and some black execs as friends as well. Of course I had black comrades in my squad and platoon as well. They are no different than me. They feel pain, hurt, and bleed just like the rest of us.
Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts today and I wish things would have turned out differently.
take care,
