If we were given a choice, I would probably agree with much of what you say. But this is being shoved on us with no choice. Just as plastic bags sounded like a good idea, there are always draw backs. And for my part, the bad out weighs the good.

Mostly new bulbs here & my electric use is less & bill is lower.
I don't have problems reading under them, have a floor lamp that holds 3 bulbs, usually only need to light one.

They are MUCH cooler, a blessing this time of year.
I don't have A/C, use ceiling & floor fans when needed.

Any little bit I can do to leave a smaller footprint on Mother Earth the better. clo
