"It's just a damn bulb that uses less juice."

And produces less light and is not manufactured in America, and costs much more. But then we don't need no stinking jobs. We got welfare.

Something must have gone wrong with the experiment, micro. Ohm's law is pretty straightforward. The wattage is printed right on the box. It takes less wattage for these bulbs to pump out as many lumens as a higher-watt incandescent.

By the way, the Feds never told you you can't use a doggone regular light bulb when you want to. You should feel free to use up your stock before moving to the new ones. I think this is part of the problem: People with a high distrust of the government (not that there's anything wrong with that) automatically think something fraudulent must be getting foisted on them. It's just a damn bulb that uses less juice.
