Gold is trying to break through to a new high. $1,550 has been a stubborn barrier, and I don't know if it's going to truly breach this time either. I can't remember seeing gold hitting new highs like this while rampant pessimism prevailed in the gold-mining equities. Maybe that's a good thing. We've all heard by now of the 'Wall of worry' that is supposedly so important to a bull market.
My office white board still displays my '1600 by 7-1-11 (posted 2-1-11)' prediction. There's not much time left - but also not very far to go. A two or three day run could do the trick.
