Just to set the record straight,
I believe it is the right of everyone to be either pro or con about nuclear energy.

As a mechanical engineer with a friend who is a nuclear engineer and who is friends with an Israeli Physicist, I am a fan of nuclear power plants.

Yes, they can spell trouble if disaster strikes, no question about it. I also realize that acts of God can easily overwhelm any safety precautions we puny humans build into anything.

BUT, the upside is large quantities of electric at outstanding prices. I hear sir Snapits' well founded concerns over disposal of spent rods. I am not going to discount them as they have deep concern and credibility.

I was under the impression that spent rods were housed in lead lined containers. I will have to call my friend and inquire what he knows about disposal these days.

But this board is big enough to have some people for and against nuclear power plants. That won't hurt a thing AND it won't change a thing either.

I just wanted to be clear that I hear the concerns, have no problems with them, yet I still am pro nuclear power plants.

So, we cannot all agree on everything, now can we?

This one thing you can count on and be sure of: The Sun will come up tomorrow by God's power and He controls everything.

Good night all from Cincy!
